My Journey
Where are you from? A little bit of everywhere was my usual response. I was a military brat who moved about every year and a half until I graduated from high school in 1987. The only exception was the three years we were stationed at Shape Air Force Base in Belgium.
I love Florida. I’ve lived my entire adult life here. I graduated from college and then law school. Almost a year after graduating from law school, I returned to Brevard County where I met my soulmate, Al. We have two children: Zackary who is now 19 and Kaylee who is 17 years of age. In 2003, with my husband’s help and encouragement, I officially launched the opening of my own law firm. At this instrumental time, after being married about 7 years and when my children were young toddlers, I began a hazardous slip down a black hole as my body seemed to turn against me without warning. Now, after all the years of building my dreams of being a successful attorney, my health was forcing me to close the firm and walk away from everything I loved so much. We relocated from Orlando to Clermont where we built a home in the country.
After boldly telling the Lord there is NO possible way He could be prompting me to homeschool my kids, that was exactly what He wanted and what I did! Against all physical and mental odds, I homeschooled our kids for six years. The Lord powerfully used this period of suffering to stretch me in my faith and in my dependence on Him and Him alone. Eventually, The Lord led me to resources which opened my future to me again! The Lord used every moment I endured, learned, and witnessed these past 15 years to bring me to this point in my journey! There is never wasted time with The Lord!
